About

Our School's Beginning and History

Estsblished in 1990, Rantobeng Secondary is a quantile 1 school. It was established/ build by the community of Diphagane, since the nearest high school was 10km away from the village. The efforts of the community saw the first 3 mud classrooms accommodating the class of 1990, grade 8 that made the matric class of 1994.

The Limpopo dept of education had later assisted this community and build 6 more classrooms and provided 9 mobiles as the leaners enrollment increases. Today the school accommodates 1084 leaners across the Makhuduthamaga Municipality in the sekhukhune district.

Challenges faced by the school include overcrowding in dilapidated classrooms, lack of resources and staff shortages. Despite all this challenges, the school has enjoyed good matric results over the years, ranging between 90 - 98%. It has produced more distinctions across the subjects with some learners attaining 7 distinctions in all subjects.

The school prides itself not only in producing academic achievers but also that the leaners exit the school as all rounders in all social aspects. We encourage our leaners to be humble, generous, sympathetic, hence this engagement in community outreach programs that teach them about Ubuntu and giving to those less fortunate than them. Uniforms from those leaving the school(grade 12) are recycleda among the fellow leaners to assist those that do not afford.

In an interview at the 2004 US Senior open Gary Player said:"I love people, and I love Travel. I find it...well,it's without a question, the best education that one can obtain, better than any college degree or University." It is in this light that the school encourages leaners to undergo tours across the country. The school makes an effort to expose our leaners to the world through travel and this helps them to nevigare through big cities especially durinh their University years.

Rantobeng Sec could be a rural, quantile one school but it counted among the best in Limpopo province and it is all through the dedication and efforts of the educators, parents and leadership of Mr RW Moantshe, who is the principal of this mighty school.
